With just one holiday left to celebrate in 2008, it's time to start thinking
about 2009! In this month's newsletter you will find a tutorial on year
end processing in Sage Accpac. If you missed our webinar a couple of weeks
ago, this will be a good refresher.
Make sure you check out our CRM video for merging people and companies to
refresh your CRM knowledge.
In wrapping up the year we would like to thank you for your continued support
and friendship and wish you and your family a
Happy and Healthy Holiday and a Prosperous New Year!

Closing the year in Sage Accpac ERP is a rather painless exercise. In this
tutorial, we’ll review the major year-end tasks and walk you through the
process. (7 minutes, 19 seconds)
Want to be a manager? Or are you already a manager but feel like you're managing by the seat
of your pants? Don't have time for a university course in management?
You've come to the right place. Marty Nemko has read many of the best management books and
interviewed top management experts. He distills it all for you in this article.
SageCRM provides several tools for keeping your data as clean as possible.
This includes a function that allows you to merge duplicate companies and
people. The merge function is also useful for combining company records when
one of your customers acquires another. In this tutorial, we’ll show you how
easy it is to use the merge tool. (4 minutes, 12 seconds)
Who hasn’t let a typo slip by or misspelled the CEO’s name or printed the
wrong phone number somewhere? Those marketing mistakes don’t warrant an
article. In fact, just one word of how-to-fix-it advice is sufficient:
proofread!
In this article, Terri Langhans explains a few more important marketing
mistakes that just about every business manager out there makes, along with
a recommended fix that will help you attract more business and get better
results from your marketing, regardless of how big or small your marketing
budget is.

WWW Search Tip of the Month
Have you ever searched for information and gotten a bunch of useless results
because your search term means different things in different contexts? Next
time this happens, try using Google's minus sign (-) feature.
If I type orioles into the Google search box because I want
information about the birds, I'll be really frustrated when I see a results
list that includes more information about the Baltimore Orioles baseball
team than about the feathered creatures I'm interested in. But if I type
orioles -baseball (make sure you get the spacing right--there is
a space between orioles and the minus sign, but no space between the minus
sign and baseball), I'll get lots of information about birds. Problem
solved!
