Jing - A New Way to Share Information
There is something on your computer screen that you would like to share with
someone in a different office or even across the country. A few cells from
a spreadsheet perhaps, or the steps you are taking while running an application.
Wouldn't it be great if there was an easy way for you to share a screen
shot or short video of what you want them to see? There is. It's called Jing.
And, at least for now, you can use it for free!
Why is it only free, "at least for now?"
Well, Jing was created by TechSmith, the company that created the video
software we use. They also make screen capture applications, such
as SnagIt. And while Jing has the ability to capture video and screen shots,
what it really does best is help you communicate that information with others.
Someday it will probably be a product for sale, but right now they
consider it more of a project than a product and they want to see how people
actually use it. Check out this video, What
is this thing called Jing?, to find out more.
With all of the information you share on a day to day basis, and especially
at this time of the year, we thought it might be handy for you to use.
