Sage Accpac Version 5.4

Last month, we began to tell you about Sage Accpac 5.4 and some of the cool new features contained in this significant release schedule for distribution this summer. This month, we cover the Accounts Receivable, Inventory Control, and Order Entry modules.

New Features in Sage Accpac Version 5.4

Listed below are new features expected in Sage Accpac Version 5.4.

Accounts Receivable Version 5.4

  • Cash invoicing
  • Customer refunds
  • Calculate taxes on miscellaneous receipts and update the Tax Tracking report
  • Check a customer’s credit based on the pending transactions in both AR and OE
  • Assign a single deposit slip to multiple receipt batches
  • Automatically post General Ledger journal entry batches
  • Choose to include or exclude prepayments when printing the Aged Trial Balance
  • Print statements for open item customers that show only those documents that have had activity since the last statement. Also, print statements that show only those documents that are open
  • Advanced credit claims in Receipt Entry
  • ANSI compliant checks for Customer Refunds
  • Allow receipts of different currencies to be entered into the same batch
  • Enter recurring charges as item invoices
  • Specify a default inventory location for the customer
  • Post multiple invoice, adjustment, receipt and refund batches simultaneously
  • View receipts in date order or receipt number order in Customer Activity
  • Ability to save the selections you make to view transactions within Customer Activity
  • Display the document’s terms code when viewing transactions in Customer Activity

  • Enter and post a prepayment without specifying the document number to which the prepayment will be applied
  • Prohibit a customer from being deleted or set to inactive if documents exist that have not been posted

Inventory Control Version 5.4

  • Set up multiple levels of bills of material
  • Streamline the process of setting up items and prices by entering all item set up information within a single item wizard
  • Set up weight units of measure and assign each item a weight unit of measure
  • Take advantage of new pricing features:
    • Automatically default the price using a cost plus a percentage or amount
    • Set up base and sales prices by unit of measure
    • Set up prices by weight or quantity
    • Set up pricing to always base price on a cost plus a % or amount
  • Set up price checks so that items are not sold below a cost plus a percentage or amount or a sales margin
  • Automatically process adjustments to:
    • Adjust actual costs of items to a new standard cost
    • Write off the cost of items with zero quantity
    • Write off the quantities of items with a zero cost
  • Define units of measure and select them when setting up an item
  • Set up a listing of the numbers your customers use for each of your inventory items.
  • Specify whether the inventory location is physical or logical
  • Specify whether an item is sellable or not
  • Print a stock movement report
  • Add stock aging report for each costing method
  • Print a transfer form

Order Entry Version 5.4

  • Check a customer’s credit based on the pending transactions in both AR and OE
  • Check the price of an item to ensure the price is not below a specified cost or below a specified margin
  • Take advantage of the new Inventory Control pricing features. Price items by weight, multiple units for measure or current cost plus a specified percentage or amount
  • Copy orders from one customer to another
  • View shipments and invoice numbers for orders and drill back to the appropriate document
  • Drill down each level of the order, shipment and invoice process
  • Automatically post General Ledger journal entry batches
  • Inquire on invoices posted for a specified item number
  • Specify the item’s weight and weight unit of measure
  • View item costs during order entry
  • Specify a discount for the entire order as well as for each order detail
  • Print a report that lists those orders that have never or partially been invoiced
  • If a contract price has been set up for a customer, use the lowest cost price regardless of the contract price
  • Default the inventory location from the customer or the customer’s ship-to location
  • Prohibit non-sellable items to be sold
  • Receive a warning if a credit note has been previously posted for an invoice
  • Allow the locations in which items can be shipped by specifying whether the location is physical or logical
  • Determine the appropriate inventory item by using the customer item numbers defined for an inventory item
  • Inquire on sales orders by customer based upon order status
  • Print the Salesperson Commission report by document date range
  • Set the Picking Slip Printed status for only those orders in which a picking slip was printed
  • Print the Transaction List by document date range
